2020 was a devastating year for so many in our community and throughout the world. Here at Camp Thoreau, we were heartbroken having to announce the cancellation of our traditional camp season. Although we successfully executed a modified, limited program offering for a small group of campers, nothing could replace the unique sense of teamwork, friendship and camaraderie that has come to define the full Camp Thoreau experience.

But things are starting to look up. We are confident that our 2021 season will not only match the legendary summers of the past, but will be done so in a safe, managed way that puts the health of our campers and staff first. We will be closely adhering to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Covid-19 guidelines and, as such, are continuously evaluating our activity offerings to ensure the lowest transmission risk possible. With 35 acres of outdoor space to work with, we are uniquely positioned to offer fun, engaging outdoor programs while still maintaining the safe physical distancing between groupings that is necessary.

I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions you may have about the upcoming camp season. We are committed to delivering the best camp experience possible, and we're all looking forward to seeing our campers once again!
