7th & 8th Graders

Summit campers have earned their rank as our oldest campers. They have learned the value of cooperation and collaboration, and they understand the need to work together as well as respect and appreciate the differences of others.

Summit campers are ready for extended time on our ropes course and more extensive programs; out-of-camp trips and overnights included!

Campers can choose from any of our 9 themed weeks of traditional camp or our tennis camp! Every week at Camp Thoreau offers something new and exciting while maintaining all the greatness of our traditional camp. Choose what works best your you. All campers enjoy consistent scheduling, staffing and the same camp values and traditions all summer long!

Friendship building, independence, responsibility, cooperation and teamwork all remain important, and our older campers also focus on respect: for themselves, others, and the environment.
