I often joke that I’m the one instructor that teaches everywhere we hold classes: I teach Yoga, Aqua Fit, Strength & Balance, Core, and Cycle. And when I’m not teaching, you can find me on the Tennis Courts playing on the CMITA C Team, taking lessons or playing matches. When people ask if I work, I forget to say “yes” because teaching at Thoreau never feels like work! It just feels like the place where I belong, and get to come “play” with members in the form of leading a class.
When I’m not at Thoreau, I’m quite busy driving my boys to and from school, Jazz Band, drum lessons, skiing, and a variety of sports practices and games. There are a LOT of miles on my car!
I started teaching Yoga (I completed my 200 hour YTT in 2014, and my 500 YTT in 2016) and Spinning several years ago. Prior to that, I was an attorney in D.C. specializing in Mutual Fund Law (now THAT felt like work!). Those were also the days of my distance running and the start of my yoga practice - which kept me sane & flexible. When we moved here in 2003, I stayed home for 11 wonderful years raising my two boys.
I am so grateful to be a part of the talented and dedicated Thoreau Group Fitness team, and to be able to spend so many hours of my week in the company of members who feel like friends.
