    Zumba

    Wednesdays 4:30 PM
    Thursdays 12:00 PM (aqua)

Originally born and raised in Brazil, I have loved Zumba since my early high school years. Upon arriving in America in 2017, my passion for dancing never left my soul.

I joined The Thoreau Club in 2019 as part of the housekeeping staff and progressed to supervisor in 2020 because of my hard work and dedication to my coworkers and club members. I expressed my ideas for wanting to expand my talents and also to become a Zumba instructor and obtained my certification in October of 2021.

If you're ready to have fun and experience the art and origin of Zumba, check out my classes on the website!

    Fitness Strategy Session

"70 percent of America's Annual Weight Gain Happens Over The Next 5-7 Weeks."
-Now is the time to double down on your training program. We can help you from being in the 70 percent!

We are honored to be a part of one of the essential parts of your fitness journey: program development. Your training goals and needs may be unique, so a custom approach to programming/training decisions needs to be unique. You will meet with a Thoreau Fitness staff member and complete the following:

    1. Needs and Goals Review - Understanding your goals and current fitness needs are essential. We conduct a questionnaire to help you understand what you want from your program.

    2. InBody - you can't manage what you don't measure. We use a world-class system to show you where you are so we can measure future progress. One of the best parts, it only takes about 45 seconds to complete to receive advanced outputs. This includes Water retention, visceral & segmental fat analysis, basal metabolic rate, and more.

    3. Movement Screen - all exercises involve movement, and we don't always move the same. We take the most responsible approach in programming by reviewing your activity in a simple and non-invasive manner.

    4. Experience Programming Framework - this is a hands-on workout to educate you on how an optimal training session should be completed.

    5. Review - After these first four steps, we take some time to review everything and decide on your fitness path.

If interested, don't hesitate to contact the Fitness Director, Brian Cioci - at [email protected].

Complimentary TPI Assessment (Golf) with Chris

The Titleist Performance Institute has developed a streamlined method to determine how your physical strengths and weaknesses affect your golf swing. We use a 16-point movement analysis to measure hip and shoulder mobility, balance, and muscular activation. We then create a personalized program to increase power, mobility, and stability to help you hit the ball more consistently and to help keep your back feeling great all season.

    * To schedule, please email the Fitness Director Brian Cioci

Save Your Shoulders - Fitness Injury Prevention Assessment (30 minutes)

When the muscles in the shoulder move in a way that isn't natural due to compensation for a related problem, there is an increased risk of a shoulder injury. You will learn some of the best ways to bulletproof your shoulders from injuries! A functional movement screen includes overhead arm moves that can help a therapist or personal trainer identify and address dysfunctional movement patterns before an injury.

If you are interested in signing up for a screening, please get in touch with Fitness Director Brian Cioci – at [email protected]

    Spa

A good weekend starts with a positive attitude and a great massage.

    New to the Team

    Audrey Wiseley

I am a native of Massachusetts, working as a massage therapist since 2003, graduating with 900 hours of classroom and hands-on study from the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge, MA. My skill set is in deep tissue and relaxation massage. Before becoming a massage therapist, I was a nursing assistant for many years and worked primarily with orthopedic patients. This has allowed me to work with various clients, as does my long career as a massage therapist. In addition to my massage work, I care for my teenage daughter and our cat Lucy with my husband. I enjoy road trips to the Berkshires, New England beaches, and local trail walks. I am licensed by the state of Massachusetts and a Professional Member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals.
